His senior year he was named co-captain on the Varsity Ice Hockey team and he was captain of the Cross Country team. Scott also received accolades as a baseball pitcher and was invited to the Cincinnati Reds tryout camp in 1983 that he bypassed to attend college. He went on to attend Bethany College (West Virginia) where he studied in sales & marketing and also co-captained the ice hockey team alongside the son of NHL Hall of Fame member Dave Keon.

Scott began his professional career in title insurance for Chicago Title (Ticor Title Guarantee) then moved his way up for 13 years managing and developing title offices for the likes of Public Abstract, Stewart Title and LandAmerica Title Company before being part of of corporate downsize in 1999. He then served as an independent sales trainer for Bell Atlantic (Verizon Communications) in both Buffalo and NYC before founding the company that would become known as A.S. Radin & Associates that morphed into a business brokerage in early 2001.
